Radio Talent and Production Program

Students in the RADIO TALENT AND PRODUCTION PROGRAM will learn to operate professional radio equipment, use “Pro-Tools” to pre- and post-produce material for radio programming.

Students will operate and produce CENTRO’s radio webcast, including news, sports, music, public interest, and entertainment programming.

With Satellite Radio, Internet Radio, High Definition Radio and Podcasting as new forms of audio, the industry is not only expanding the potential for listening beyond traditional radio, but also opening new job markets for those individuals trained to operate and create programming to satisfy this new era of radio.

Program Length:  
4 months (16 weeks) Class Schedule:

The Radio Talent and Production Program requires 25 hours of class and hands-on studio time per week.  
Students choose to register in the morning or the evening program (based on availability).
• Morning Program: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Evening Program: 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

• FCC rules and regulations and other legal aspects of broadcasting,
• Vocalization methods
• Radio interviewing techniques
• Use of high-tech equipment and technology including: digital boards and computer   
   systems including:  Vox-Pro, Audio Vault, Digital Production with Adobe Audition and Pro-Tools.
• Traffic and continuity
• Formats and markets
• Talk radio vs. music
• Commercials and Promos (Pre and Post-Production)
• Sales
• Programming
• Market Tendencies
• Satellite Radio and HD Radio
• Internet Broadcasting

Tuition:
$7,000 including all books, fees, materials and use of equipment
